"The Commissioner & The Unit"

 In April 15th I started, my 33rd year, as a Commissioner, which I was the ACC for Retention, for 15 years, then 2 years as ACC for the UVTS, which was not where my strength was; so, I was thrilled when, in 2010 the DFS and our Council Commissioner asked me, to again be the ACC for Retention, and for Leader's Recognitions. They are the 2nd and 3rd R of Scouting, which my Recruiting Tools is the 1st. If you visit my Home Page, you will see the Formula I have lived by since becoming a Volunteer Leader in 1970.

What I have learned, over the years that, no matter what level we are, as a Commissioner, every decision we make affects our Scouts, so we need to make sure that it has a positive effect, on them. My best experience over the years was, when I had an opprtunity to, start a Cub Pack at my Parish, which I promised our Scout Families that, we would offer a Family/Faith based program, and I would be the 1st CM, for 2 years: then, the Scout Families would run the Pack. In September, of this year, I will retire from that Pack, after fulfilling both promises. At our ACC meeting, in August 2005, my presentation, had to show how, I would promote the Great Expectations. Because of that Pack, I offered a new Family Packet, for Packs, then for Troops/Varsity Teams, Venture Crews, and Sea Scoutsthat during that meeting, they became the official packets for our Council.

I have replaced the Other Scouting Web Sites, with BSA Web Sites, which I have added my Web Site, and the one, BSA National has suggested, for my, and my Coucil's Site, which is Scout Parent's Web Site. I suggest the same for all other Councils, do the same.
