Below is the Scouters Resume Form on MS Word, have you filled one out. When I did, I realized I held have 37 Positions, and earned 46 Awards, and on April 15th 2010, will be my 46th year with the BSA.

45 Year Scouting Career Of Joseph E Wherry I PhD

 I was asked if I could find anything from when I received the Silver Beaver in 1984, and what I said was my most importmoment, for the Council History Book. Well I found the original program for that night 25 years ago, along with a picture of me and my late wife as it was presented to me. I was the youngest one to receive it than, at age 36, which I also Celebrated 20 Years in the BSA. We were not asked for a special moment in those days, but now there are many. However, today it was me being selected by United Way as Volunteer of 2008 for Youth Services, which our Council put me in for, and National approving my Square Knot for CCS's

 

I have seen to many times, Leaders in other Units, or Transferrs, that were not aware they had earned Square Knots for their previous positions. Also, after being trained, there is no follow-up on them doing those things, such as going to 4 Roundtables, or one University of Scouting, each year, that is required to, earn their Square Knots. That is why, even though these Awards are on other web sites, that they are here too.

Historian

Our Council has created a History museum, and are working on a History Book, which I have given my Scouting background, which has earned me the above Historian patch, and Certificate. It is another chance of keeping me, even with my poor health, alive for a long time. I hope all Scouters / Commissioners, across the Nation / World have a chance for the same. This can keep the Boy Scout Legacy alive forever. So, if you are asked to share your Scouting Story, please agree to do so.
