Retention is the Ultimate Goal in Boy Scouts, which begins with Recruiting Scouts and Leaders. So, we need the Tools that will make that happen, including training those new Leaders. That is what I have tried to do, in creating this Web Site, which doesn’t have all the answers, and where you Leaders / Commissioners, that visit this site, comes in. During your visit, if you have questions, ideas, concerns, or suggestions, share them in the Contact page, and they will be put in the Contributor’s page, to be shared with other visitors, and myself.
Local Scouts Rank Top in the U.S.
Omaha, Nebr. (June 25, 2010) Now is the time to join Scouting! Based on a five-year look at 19 different performance indicators, the Mid-America Council has been recognized as the #1 BSA council; there are 296 other councils in the U.S.
The Boy Scouts of America, Mid-America Council serves 58 counties in Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota and offers programs for boys and girls ages 6-20 years. Cub Scouting is for boys in the first to fifth grade. This program focuses on family and neighborhood involvement through learning activities and fun. The Boy Scout program is for boys in sixth through twelfth grade and encourages peer leadership roles, as well as includes numerous outdoor activities. Venturing is a co-ed program for those between the ages of 14-20 years. This program focuses high adventure outdoor activities.
In addition, the Council provides the Scouting program to underserved inner city and rural youth. More than 1,000 boys who wouldn’t normally receive the program are reached through the Mid-America Council Scoutreach program. This program encourages character building, morals, and ethics and provides a safe, fun environment for youth.
Annually, the Mid-America Council provides support and resources for an average of 16,249 merit badges to be earned. Over 700 Scouts earn the Life Saving Merit Badge each year. On average, more than 330 young men earn the honorable rank of Eagle Scout each year.

I have truly been blessed even with my poor health, while raising my 4 children as a single parent, that MAC always always supported me to share the Tools that have made me a success at the Unit, District, and Council level through their, and my Web Site. Even now, in translating those Tools into Spanish. Now they have told my story in their History Book above, which started in 1997, and allowed me to up date my story prior to publishing it in 2010.

As a result of my service in the BSA, I was also inducted in to their Hall of Fame. Above is what is in their Hall of Fame Book, Click Brown Underlined Words for pictur on pdf, if you are interested.
